Antoine Léaument, a La France Insoumise MP for Essonne, published a report as part of the parliamentary inquiry committee at the National Assembly on the organization of the elections, raising questions about the reliability of the polls. He detailed the results in "Autrement dit" on Friday, June 6.
Guest on franceinfo on Friday, June 6, the LFI deputy for Essonne, Antoine Léaument, returns to his method for evaluating the functioning of polling institutes as rapporteur of the parliamentary commission of inquiry on the organization of elections in France: "I went to the Polling Commission, where I recovered more than 14,000 documents, which are the expert notices of the polling institutes, which are not published," he explains.
"Across all the polls for the 2022 presidential election, looking at all the pollsters, I tried to see what the cumulative effects of these polls and these adjustments were. There are several problems," continues Antoine Léaument, who points out certain flaws, including "the ability of pollsters to have a representative sample of the French population."
"There is a difficulty, particularly in capturing the youngest, most popular populations," the rebel specifies, also evoking the problems posed by "the new social categories" that have emerged in the population. "The Uberization of society makes it more complicated to draw up sociodemographic categories that are as precise as [before], " he also notes.
